Meet Thurl, one of the team at The Mortgage/Insurance Advice Company! Born and raised in beautiful Motueka in the South Island, Thurl has called Wellington home since spending time travelling and working throughout Europe.
These days, he enjoys making the most of the hunting, fishing and Padel on offer, or getting stuck into the odd DIY project. Although, as he puts it, the DIY projects have also given him plenty of opportunities to master first aid!
With more than 20 years in the financial services industry, Thurl has previously run his own businesses and brings a strong financial and customer relationship background to his role. He believes getting the balance right between personal insurance and KiwiSaver is where the honest discussions need to happen. For Thurl, the advice process is definitely a two-sided affair, and asking the hard questions is an important part of getting to the right outcome.
Thurl often refers to his three Golden Rules: luck favours the prepared, never think you know it all (keep trying to learn more than you forget), and asking questions often leads to more answers.
Based in central Wellington, Thurl enjoys a busy life outside of work with his wife Erin and their two kids, Aquila and Lorcan, with the family sharing a love of sports and outdoor activity.
